Since its launch in 2002 Freeview has become increasingly popular across the UK. Freeview enables our West Midlands customers to watch over seventy digital channels without paying for a contract. Freeview uses a digital signal, so a satellite dish is not required—many modern televisions have integrated digital tuning for picking up channels, but a set-top box can be used to enable older televisions to pick up digital stations.

Since the Digital Switchover everyone benefits from the better signal and clarity offered by a Digital Network. Freeview was developed to allow as many people as possible to access a wide range of entertainment through the help of a set top box or through their television. You can also add extra stations through the use of Top Up TV or ESPN.
Freeview can also be accessed through cutting edge Hybrid Broadband TV. These systems allow you to access lots of extra services through your flat screen television that you can usually only get through your computer. Current providers of this system include YouView and BT Vision. Aerial Solutions will be happy to talk you through these options and put together the optimum package to suit your needs.
Freeview Benefits
The UK made the switch to digital in 2002 in a government project, which although operated by DTV Services Ltd, is a business with joint links to all the main broadcasting corporations and the transmitter operator Arquiva. This digital terrestrial TV platform is called Freeview. Digital has a much higher signal strength than analogue, so for the same cost as a standard license fee, greatly improved reception using the same aerial system became available as well as a greater selection of channels.
As well as receiving over seventy of these TV and radio channels for free, there are also options to add subscription channels through ESPM or Top Up TV. Freeview and Freeview HD can also be accessed as part of Hybrid Broadband TV systems, which include YouView and BT Vision.

If you are a commercial client, we strongly recommend that you check out our popular Maintenance Package. For an extra fee we will carry out a quarterly inspection to make sure your system is running at its best, and any planned maintenance is undertaken including repairs and upgrades. We will inspect and replace all external aerials, making sure that any disruption to your service caused by wear and tear or poor weather conditions is rectified and your service is optimised.
