DAB Radio Benefits
The origin of the acronym DAB is Digital Audio Broadcasting. This was created as a European Union research project that lead to the first official radio DAB channel, which was broadcast from Norway in 1995. There are now well over 50 UK stations, and DAB aerials giving listeners a wider variety of stations than that offered by the AM/FM system. Furthermore, your location no longer limits what you can listen to, for example if you are in another city, you can use digital to listen to your local home station. DAB aerials also expand the quantity of local channels available closer to home, such as undocumented local channels. Also, crackles, faded signals and station overlap are now things of the past thanks to superior DAB transmission, which also offers auto tuning and radio text (which will tell you what song or artist you are listening to).
